Entry limits

For the first time in many years there will be serious entry limits in place at Maadi. The limit is 1 crew per school in each of the U16 doubles events (events 26 and 45). The 2013 limit of 4 crews per school will remain in place in all other events.

The limit is required because the number of entries is projected to exceed the capacity of the progression system: 64 crews.

However, although there is well in excess of 64 schools who could potentially enter a crew, the actual number of schools entering is expected to be much less. Consequently, when supplementary entries open the limit will be raised slowly and the event will accept up to 64 entries altogether.

This means most (perhaps all) schools who want to enter a second crew will probably be able to do so. And potentially there will still be some space for schools to enter even more crews.

Nevertheless, if more than 64 crews have aspirations to enter the event some will miss out. So individual schools should not have any expectation they will end up with multiple entries in these events.
