Notices: Mercer Club Regatta

This is the collection of regatta notices for the 2014 Mercer Club Regatta.

Mercer Regatta Cafe!

Our cafe organisers have put together a great menu of items available to purchase during the day, including Vogels sandwiches and macaroni cheese, as well as salad and fruit options. Along with two coffee carts and the ever-popular barbecue fired up from breakfast onwards, you should be well fed on Saturday!

Tents on the Mercer side

The trees on the Mercer-side bank have recently been cut down so there will be less shade than usual for spectators. Please do not pitch any tents with sides on the spectator bank as they impede the view of others.

For all parents driving to the regatta

Traffic Management:

Holding the Mercer Regatta is dependent upon obtaining approval from Waikato District Council for a Temporary Traffic Management Plan (TTMP). This means that each of the cones and signs has been set out in accordance with the approved plan, which is monitored every two hours.

Drivers - please do not move any cones! They have been set out to ensure everyone's safety and moving the cones (e.g. in attempt to park nearer to the venue) could mean that safety is impeded - an obstruction to the line of sight for vehicles entering and exiting the access road to the Mercer Club rooms. In particular there is no parking on the side of the road between the Mercer Rowing Club entrance and the bridge over the Waikato River. There is ample provision for parking in a grass paddock well off the road behind the Mercer Rowing Club rooms

For those who choose to stay on the eastern side of the river, please remember that Riverbank Road forms part of SH22. It's not just a road through the Mercer village. It's quite narrow and a busy road too, especially with trucks carrying freshly harvested potatoes. To facilitate getting boats across Riverbank Drive, there will be stop/go lollypop signs to assist. Please work with CMRC parents who are manning the signs, to ensure there are no incidents or near misses.

Important Information for all Coxes!

Coaches - could you please make sure your coxes and rowers in blind boats read the cox information sheet before the regatta so they are prepared for some of the possible issues they will face on the day. Thank you!
