Based on the forecast 15 knot SE winds for Lambton Harbour on Saturday the weather committee has cancelled the Queens Cup regatta.

The strength of the wind forecast plus the expected gusts are at the upper limit of the safety guidelines we have in place for the staging of regattas.

Consideration has been given to having only the bigger boats on the water but the programme adjustments required make this an impractical exercise.

50% of the competitors are novices and we have to be mindful of their inexperience.

We trust clubs still have some good on water training tomorrow.

The weather Committee's decision is delayed until 2:00pm.
