Notices: Club Regatta

This is the collection of regatta notices for the 2022 Club Regatta.

Substitution protest outcome

On Saturday a protest was received regarding a crew that had an ineligible rower in it. Following an investigation the protest was upheld by the Race Committee. It was found that a substitution had been made but not notified, resulting in an ineligible crew competing in a race. As a consequence, that crew missed out on the final and the entrant entity received a formal reprimand.

Regatta participants are reminded that every substitution must be submitted to Regatta Control prior to racing. If substitutions are not possible within the Rules, coaches should still discuss with the Chief Umpire what options might be available.

Regatta conditions - some key points

The KRI Board draws your attention to some key points from the Conditions. Review the Conditions in full here.

- the event is a two day regatta. Generally heats will be on saturday and finals on Sunday.
- coxswain weigh in is the standard weigh in procedure under the nzra rules of racing 2021 (coxswains only weigh in between 1 and 2 hours before their first race of the regatta)
- a reminder that coxswains must comply with rule 22.7 of the Rules or must wear a non-inflatable buoyancy aid which is substantially compliant with New Zealand Standards (NZS 5823:2005), suitable for their size and age and/or weight, and outside all other clothing
- Where the number of entrants in an event are such that there need to be more than 6 heats, timed heats may be used. For example if you have 7 or 8 heats, crews in the A Final would be determined by finding the crews with the fastest 8 times across all heats in that event.
