Notices: N.I. Masters Champs

This is the collection of regatta notices for the 2020 North Island Masters Championships.

Cancelled

The Legion of Rowers wish to advise that, due to the resurgence of the Corona Virus, and the uncertainty over if and when New Zealand will revert to Alert Level 1 throughout the Country, the call has been made, in consultation with the Chairman of KRI, to cancel the Legion Masters regatta, scheduled for Saturday 29th August ’20.

With the greater Auckland region (extending from Wellsford to Pukekohe) at present being at Alert Lever 3, and the rest of the Country at Alert Level 2, with no change in alert levels likely – if any at all - until midnight 26th August, this has created an unprecedented situation for the Sport of Rowing, and has given us no other option but to cancel our first ever North Island Masters Championship regatta.

Our Committee would like to sincerely thank all clubs who were planning to attend, and who have supported our Masters regattas in the past. With this regatta now cancelled, we would like to remind you of the forthcoming Rowing New Zealand Masters Championships, which are scheduled to take place on Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th September ’20, at Lake Karapiro.
Please check the Rowing New Zealand website at regular intervals for news updates, as here again this regatta will be very dependent on the whole of New Zealand moving back to Alert Level 1.

The Legion AGM, which was to have taken place on Sunday 23rd August, at 11.00 a.m., will now be held as a Virtual Meeting. More details to follow, but as usual we would very much appreciate your attendance – this time online. More details to follow.
